Production date of Wards Westernfield Model 80A?
Wards Westernfield Model 80A tube fed pump action .22 rifle
Serial # 112362
Very curious as to production date. It looks '30s, but last time I guessed on this, I was off by 30 years.
It's got a lot of character. I want it to operate for the next generation, and to be able to pass it's historical info, like "Sold out of the Sears and Robuck Catalogue 1934-1938 for $8.65" or something like that (hey, I make that stuff up pretty well. My nephew would never know the difference)

Hello Jim...
The Western Field Model 80A was made by Savage Arms and it is identical to their own Model 29. Savage manufactured the Model 29 from 1929 - 1967, and it was made with an octagon barrel and checkered pistol grip stock until 1940. Post WW II production was a round barrel and non-checkered stock. As far as I know, there is no published serial number to DOM cross reference list.
