Date of manufacture for an Ortgies .25 auto
Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help find the date of manufacture on this old Ortgies .25 auto I have. The serial number is 62273...also on the back of the frame underneath is a 17 and what looks like an F in a half circle ...any clue what this means .....Thanks for any help anyone can give.

They were produced between 1919 and 1926 or so, so probably around 21 or 22.
Cruelty was a rare thing in the war. Fireside folks who talk about war and read about it, they figure it's cruel more often than not, but it simply isn't so... You kill in war to survive, and not because of any desire to kill.
