JUST BOUGHT A RUGER PC-9

I noticed it while visiting my favorite gun shop. Was thinking of getting an M-1 Carbine and this looked a little like it. Uses Ruger pistol mags. Took it to the indoor range and it's as accurate as I let it be. Talked to the guy who designed it. He said there are copies in a Maine police training dept. that have over 85K rounds through them without malfunction. He said it was originally designed to handle the .44 Magnum cartridge. I asked him why they don't make a .45 ACP version. He said it was designed with prototypes, but never put into production.

Considering the price, availability of inexpensive ammo, ability to use pistol mags (high caps, too), and accuracy I'm really happy with this weapon. If you decide to get one, stay away from the .40 cal version and don't use aluminum cased ammo. The cases can't take the force from the slide if the bullet doesn't feed just right and will crack.

I'd buy another in a heartbeat.
