Hopkins & Allen

Clueless
I just got a .32 Hopkins & Allen in almost mint condition. Probably never fired. Nickel plated with hard rubber grips, marked Double Action No.6. Has 2 1/2" octagon barrel. I know H&A made economy guns around the turn of the 20th century. Appreciate any info about No.6 as to date, value or other comments. Thanks

    I've come across a Hopkins & Allen Mfg. Co. pistol. Other markings on the pistol indicate

    Could anyone enlighten me as to some history of this item and or an approximate value? Thanks.

    Hopkins & Allen were well known American Firearms Manufacturers. They were in business from the 1860's until W W I.

    Much of their production consisted of inexpensive self-defense handguns, popularly known as Suicide Specials.

    Your revolver would fall into this classification. There would be little collector demand/value for your revolver, unless it was in excellent factory original condition.

    Not a great value here.

    Blue book value ranges from $60 @ 70% to $100 @ 95%.

    There are exceptions, but most H & A revolvers fell in the "Saturday Nite Special" category.

    I actually like these little pistols. Some of them are falling apart, but if you get a nice one with a crisp action and properly aligning cylinders, and use suitable loads, it is as reliable, accurate, and safe as anything else.
