Sako Finnlite any good?
I am looking at a Sako Finnlight as a deer and later an elk gun. I have heard that they are good quality guns. There are none around here to even look at. I have only took one deer but have heard that this 7MM is good for a variety of situations. I want this light one for carrying on an elk trip in a year or two. Does anyone have experience with a finnlite? I am all about quality, lifetime purchases. Thanks..........

I don't think the Marketing department at Sako does the best job in the world! As mentioned, you normally don't get a lot of rsponses regarding their fine guns here...kinda confuses me as well! Keep in mind that they have always been a little pricey, but tend to hold their value quite well. Additionally, there are a lot of custom rifle builders that use the Sako actions to build up highly embellished guns and that should likely say something as to their quality! I have enjoyed all the Sako's I've fired over the years (though have never owned one myself!). A friend has a custom Mannlicher stocked 223 on a Sako action that is a pure joy to both shoot and look at! If your looking for a good quality gun with long term investment implications, I think you would do well to consider the Sako.

sako has to be the finist shooter out of the box. I have an l57 in 243, that the best shooter I've seen,have had it since 61 never a problem. and still going strong. 0 -
Like they all said, SAKO s are the best. I own a couple, and they are straight shooters!! Keep their value well. I have handeled the Finnlite, but not shot one yet. They carry very well, been thinking of one, but keep buying other bargins first.

hi, I deer stalk in Ireland and am changing my gun , I've shot alot of hunting rifles to find the right package for me .
These include Bruno 6.5 , tika in 6.5 & 308 and i thing a styer .243
But it was the sako finnlite that was the best all round for feel and weight . its a personal choice at the end of the day , I just felt it was the nicest to shot aswell.
I even looked at a blaser 6.5 and still prefered the Finnlite , the only thing that i dont like is the grey grips but i got over it and orderd mine last week .( I shot a mauser .243 for the last 4 years)

Sako is one on the best guns made. I had a custom rifle built around a Sako barreled action. Great rifle. Now own a Browning in 243 made by Sako in Finland. I bought it back in the 70s. Very smooth action. The Sako has always been pricey but the quality is worth it. I really like the older models. 0 -
I have nothing but good to say about SAKO. Although I have heard that their latest incarnation is an attempt to sell their SAKO stamp on a rifle that is nothing but a cheapened Tikka T-3(which in itself is a no frills SAKO).
Anything before that is awesome...especially the 75, and 85's.0 -

If it says Sako, it has to be good. Some say there are better Sakos than other Sakos, but I haven't found anyone that says they are bad. You won't see too many, because they cost a lot, and people that have them don't get rid of them. If you get something that is lightweight, remember the recoil will be more, so adjust the caliber accordingly. 0
