Factory Rifle Ammo

I have my Tikka T3 Lite Stainless on the way and will pick it up in about a week. I am going to put a Bushnell Legend 5-15x40 mil dot scope on it. The rifle is a .243 caliber. My question is which "factory" round for the money would be the best to use for ie: zero, target, break-in and hunting varmits ? Remington, Winchester, Hornaday........... After some reserch so far I kinda like the ballistics that I am seeing on the 70 and 90 gr Remington Accu-tip's. Who in your opinion makes the best all around consistant and accurate round ?

PS.... other than reloading, where do most people purchase their factory rounds for the best deal ? Local gun shop or over the internet. And if over the internet, Which sites offer the best price's and service ?

    Best advise I can give would be to purchase 1 box of each bullet weight (from 1 manfacture) and shoot some groups to see which bullet weight your rifle groups the best. Than purchase 1 box of that bullet weight from each of the manfactures (standard and premimum) and shoot more groups to see which brand/loading it prefers. Finaly, stock up on the one that your rifle prefers.
    Each rifle is a law unto itself, and each will prefer somthing slightly different.

    Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.

    Here's my .02,the 85 or 90 gr.factory loads will probably work well,but I still prefer a good handload.

    Like Tailgunner1954 says, if you're not going to reload you'll have to try a box of as many brands and weights as you can to find the one that shoots best in your rifle. Buy 'em locally as shipping will drive the price up considerably. The one Hornady Light Mag load in .243 lists at $31 a box. Kind of pricey if you ask me.

    i just bought a tikka (blued synthetic) but it .270 wsm

    i was told never to break in a new barrel with moly coated bullets though .

    i would also suggest hornaday or federal

    I dont own a .243 but federal gold medal works nicely in .223 and it isnt too pricey. If you want good deals on line go to ammoman.com their shipping is included in the prices you see on the site.Have fun!
