Astra 44 mag.
Has anybody heard of a 44 mag. made by astra? I was told that it is made by astra in smith and wesson molds. It is stainless with a 6" barrel and was wondering what it was worth before buying or worth buying at all![?] Never been shot. Still in box!

Yes. Astra made a large frame DA/SA revolver chambered in .357, .41 and .44 Mag. Might have made it in .45 Colt as well. Do NOT believe the 'Smith & Wesson' story. Very different revolver, very different lockwork.
They do not sell very well due to the poor perception of Spanish handguns. If I were buying one for resale, it would have to be CHEAP! Like $150 or so.

Gunsmith is right, the Smith and Wesson story is bologna. However, the Astra revolvers are well made guns. In the condition you describe, Standard Catalog of Firearms says it's worth $350...I'd pay $250-275...Just my 2 cents. 0
