Savage 410 model 940E question
Can anyone tell me the likely years of manufacture of my Savage 410 shotgun in model 940E?

Early 1970's I believe. It should be serialized.

There is no serial number that I can find. The only numbers or letters besides company ID and model number are "LT4" on receiver under chamber. It was given to a friend as a used gun in about 1970.

I have a stevens 940E 20 ga. I purchased as a used gun in the early 80's ii was fairly new at that time I think these guns were made form the mid 70's to the early 80's but thats just a educated guess I really like this gun and would like to have all the gauges If you come arcoss a book on these guns let me know i've kept an eye out for one but have'nt found one 0 -
OK, if it is not serialized then it was the very late 1960's. I dont imagine much earlier than 1965 or so, so figure 1965-1968.
