WTB:Saiga 12 8+ capacity mags
Anyone know where I can buy a 8 round or more capacity mag for the saiga 12 ga.? I know they might be considered "illegal" but I also know they can be legally shipped if they are modified to only except 5 rounds, then, after the ban expires, can be changed back to higher capacity.

Why would that be illegal? According to the ATF (http://www.atf.gov/firearms/legal/semi.htm), magazines 10 rounds and less are okay. The Saiga is clearly outside the definition of an assault shotgun, even with an 8round magazine. So it seems the shotgun is legal, the magazine is legal, and the combination of the two is legal. 0 -

Page 6-7, definitions of "semi-automatic assault weapons" include a limit of 5 rounds for shotguns with detachable magazines:

And I don't believe that 5-round limit on shotguns is part of the 1994 "Crime Bill"--I think it is just part of "rulings" the ATF has made. I think it will remain even if the 10-round limit on rifle/handgun magazines is allowed to expire this September. (There are people on the forum who could probably explain the details better, if they decide they want to.)

Actually, I just now realized that your link says the same thing as the PDF document I linked to. From your link:
"921(a)(30) The term 'semiautomatic assault weapon' means:
(D) a semiautomatic shotgun that has at least 2 of -
(i) a folding or telescoping stock;
(ii) a pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon;
(iii) a fixed magazine capacity in excess of 5 rounds; and
(iv) an ability to accept a detachable magazine.
? 922(v)(1) It shall be unlawful for a person to manufacture, transfer, or possess a semiautomatic assault weapon.
