Need Value On Prototype Rem Nylon 66
I would appreciate any help that I might receive from the experts concerning the value of a Remington Nylon 66 prototype. According to my understanding the Nylon 66 model was not introduced for sale in the USA until late 50s or early 60s. Apparntly 7 prototypes (and only 7 of these prototypes) were manufactured in Japan in 1959 as experimental models prior to the Nylon 66 going int full scale production to be sold by Remington (These prototypes had NO SERIAL # on the rifle).
Would anyone have any additional information on these prototypes or know (or care to speculate as to) what one of these would be worth. Any help in determining a value on one of these would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not specifically familiar with your rifle. Just like to raise a couple of points regarding similar situations, that I have run across in the past.
1), You have to have irrefutable documentation and readily traceable provinance to substantiate your claims, i.e. That this is a Remington prototype.
2), Prior to the enactment of the "Gun Control Act" of 1968, their was no legal reguirement for the manufacturers to put serial numbers on certain longuns. Many inexpensive rifles and shotguns were sold without serial numbers.

The Nylon 66 was introduced in 1959. It was designed, developed, and manufactured in America.

Never heard of this either. Nylon 66's did not have serial numbers until 1968. What marks are on the bbl?

This "prototype" belongs to an associate that asked me to see what I could find out about it. I guess that I need to get some more details from this buy if I can and see if he has an irrefutable documentation and readily traceable provinance to substantiate the claims that this is actually a Remington prototype as rufe-snow has suggested.
I am also curious to find out (if possible - which I will try to more info from him) as to whether this could actually be a Remington prototype of some kind. My curiosity is just wanting to know whether this guy could possibly have some "beach front property" or is what he actually has just "beach front property in Arizona."
I agree with CountryGunSmith. I knew that the Nylon 66 was introduced in either the late 195os or early 60s. I also thought that the Nylon 66 was designed, developed, and manufactured in America only.
