Marlin camp 9 mm

I recently acquired a Camp 9mm. Low rounds but several years old.
After firing 5 rounds the "Polymer Buffer" disintergrated. Is this a normal/abnormal problem with this gun?? Repair parts?? I dismantled and replacement should be easy. Any help would be appreciated.

  Wow, this topic has come up twice in two weeks! I got mine from egunparts (Numrich) for $5.00. It is a common problem.

  I just tried to order the factory buffer from brownells and they're listed as "factory part no longer available".

  I'm still looking for a buffer, will probably fabricate one.
