handgun shipping
Can anyone enlighten me on the confusing handgun shipping laws?? How do I as an unlicensed individual ship a modern handgun to an FFL holder? It is my understanding that neither UPS or the postal service will accept shipment from an unlicensed individual. Furthermore, what if the handgun is an antique, any changes???

Is it legal to ship my handgun to myself at my summer residence from my winter residence? 0 -
Unless you have an FFL you can not ship it USPS
Have to use FEDEX or the Brown Truck, either way it must go overnite.
Disassemble NO

I have twice shipped handguns via UPS overnight service (which is required for handguns). I sent my pistols to a gunsmith in another state and did not need to involve an FFL. Also, I did not need to disassemble them. I just made certain they were not loaded. In fact, I did not send a magazine at all. The gunsmith -- Wilson Combat -- sent them back the exact same way. I had to be home to sign for them. No problems. For more details, check with UPS. 0 -
While all the information above is correct......you still need to tell us exactly why you are planning to ship the pistol. If you plan to ship it for repair or customizing, fine. If you plan to ship it to yourself at another location, fine. If you plan to sell/give it to someone else, that's a problem.
