Rifle barrel length and overall length????
It's bad enough that I don't know what I should but I can't seem to find the information either. Can anyone give me the minimum legal barrel length for a rifle and the minimum legal overall length. Building myself a short, quick bear stick but I want to keep it legal. Hello Mark C. You out there...................

The barrel must be 16in with an overall length 26in.

On rifles, is there a regulation that says something about the stock shape being such that it is to be fired from the shoulder? That is, if it only has a pistol grip with nothing to rest against the shoulder, it is considered making a rifle into a pistol. And that requires a class 2 manufacturers license???
Seems I recall discussing this with an ATF lawyer many years ago.

Isn't it great how if you cut your barrel to a shorter length, and cut off your stock, it's a felony, but if you buy a Remington XP-100 for a few hundred dollars extra, it's legal? How? 0 -
