Tobin Arms 12Ga Double
I just purchased a 12ga TOBIN ARMS MFG CO 12GA Double. It is not listed in the current "Blue Book". Norwich Conn USA engraved on both sides of the receiver, Ser# 107xx. Where do I look for information? Thank you for looking. Jim

Hi and welcome to the forum!
Regardless of model you have a fairly rare shotgun. Tobin was in business from about 1905 through 1925, but in late-1909 to early 1910 their operations transferred to Windsor, Ontario, Canada so one can assume that with the markings you've stated your gun is 1909 or earlier.
You didn't state hammer or hammerless or level of engraving. Tobin made one exposed hammer model and two hammerless models in 4 different grades.

There isn't a lot of info. on Tobin's that I could find beyond the Standard Catalog of Firearms, but maybe one of the other members can help.

Looks like Contender Man has it about Covered...Even my Database is very short on info..
Tobin Arms Company Manufacturer of Shotguns....Norwich, Conn from 1905 to 1909.................Moved the Company to Woodstock, Ontario, Canada and produced Shotguns 1920 thru 1923...
I've just broused My Libruary, and can find No Further mention of TOBIN Arms Co.

i have a copy of abercombie & fitch co. catalog, list the tobin hammerless double barrel in four grade prices range from $25.00 for the no. 2 (lowest grade) to $52.50 for the no.54 highest grade.

left out date, the abercombie & fitch catalog is for the year 1910 and the gun used in the illustration has the norwich address.
