I have a P38 with the letter "e" after the serial no.#. Can anyone tell me what the letter signifies? It was a bringback from WW11. Thank you. 0 -
WWII German army pistol P.38. Made 1943 by Mauserwerk. Grips made of "Bakelite", an early type of plastic.
The eagle over 135 is the Waffenamt office (military acceptance) over Mauser. Serial numbers will be found on the slide, barrel, frame, and locking block. These are the only ones to look for.
Value range $350-$500. This is a common variation.
Perhaps Rufe-snow will come along and post a link to show you a picture of what your pistol looks like.
