I have a Standard Model Winchester Mod.71 Rifle made during 1939 with a factory peep sight on the bolt. It is in total original condition and is in immaculate condition inside and out. Value??

Good evening Jimmy Jo: Assuming you are correct in the year of Manufacture, that tells e it's not a 20in barrel since they were discontinued in 1938. so you must have one with a 24 in barrel? It could also have a long or short tang.
Aprox 98% condition $875
" 95% " $800
" 90% " $750
The book also says you could add 25% for a Pre-war long tang.
Your condition has to be original, not redone. The price can very some by location, and how many are on the market at any given time.

I will have to disagree with the values that Dave posted/quoted from the Blue Book. If your Model 71 grades out in the 90%+ range, the actual collector value is in the $2000 range (+/- 10%).

Good morning all. I don't disagree with what you have said either Bert. That's why I asked JimmyJo if his gun was a long or short tang, along with questioning the barrel length. Pre-war guns that are "mint", are few and far between, that's why I also mentioned, original condition, not redone. Until those questions are addequately addressed, I wouldn't go out on a limb and say it was worth more than I posted. I also know that when Winchester stopped offering the 20" barrel in 1938, per the catelog, that they still made them until the barrels were consumed into 39/40.
JimmyJo can you answer those question so me may get a better idea of what you actually have? Regards Dave0
