Steven Model 77c
I have a Stevens (Savage) Model 77c that an uncle gave to me. He said that he cleaned the gun and now it double feeds. Ive had it apart and found the cartridge stop spring crushed and spring stop missing. Got parts from Gunparts.com installed with same result (double feeds) . Ive never worked on a pump shot gun and could use some help. Thank you in advance.

The shell stop (left) that I replaced the spring and plunger on was being bound up by the sleve that goes through trigger assembly, pinged it back and now it follows up and down. till having some feed problems probably self inflicted. Thank you for the tip. 0 -
Disassembled shotgun one more time, removed a few burrs and gun now feeds fine. 0 -
