Ruger 44M/44WCF convertible?
Found a SBH for sale that the owner is claiming is a 44M/44-40 convertible (no box). I've never heard of such an animal. Was such a gun ever made, or has someone simply hogged out a 44M cylinder and had it fitted?

I'm not a real Ruger expert, but, yeah, Ruger made some .44Mag/.44-40 convertibles for a distributor some years ago. Is yours an original Ruger product or made up from with a Vaquero cylinder is the question.
Do the markings on the two cylinders match? I believe that real Ruger convertibles have matching cylinder markings (serial number is repeated on cylinders or part of the serial number, or the caliber is stamped on the 44-40 cylinder in the same typeface as on the Mag.).
