Arminius Help
Neighbor bought an Arminius HW38T Serial NO. 577--- at an auction. It is NIB never fired, and I cannot find it in any of my cataloques, but I did find other calibers and that is was made in Germany. The owner said it was about 30 years old. but can anyone give me the value of this piece and if +P ammo can be used in it? Thank you

HELLO I would not shoot +p in this pistol they all had a "POT METAL" frame and of no collector intrest some even had pot metal barrel with steel liner. If it is the one i think it is. KARL 0 -
NO +P ammo!
But you can shoot it. The gun was made by the German firm of H. Weihrauch. They were of decent quality. Not up to Smith & Wesson, but certainly on a par with or above anything from RG. (Rohm)
It is not particularly collectible, except for the fact that these were cheap guns, imported by the boatloads, and they were mostly used and abused. A NIB specimen may be a very rare thing, if not valuable.

No ... don't use +P ... these guns were not designed for the higher pressure loads, and to do so is putting excessive stress on the components so while one in top mechanical condition would most likely hold together, continued use will lead to premature failure, possibly including injury. It's just plain not worth the risk. 
If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!0
