Ithaca Model 37R

I recently picked up a model 37R in 12ga with 28" mod. choke barrel. Gun is in great condition. I've always liked the model 37's and have owned a few over the years, but what really got my attention was the solid rib on the 37R model. I was told they were made between 1937 & 1967. The one I have was made in 1953 according to Ithaca's web site.
Does anyone know just how many of the 37R models Ithaca made? Are they at all rare?
Just curious as I've never come across one with the solid rib before.

  All it states in the Blue Book and Standard Catalog of Firearms is the years of mfg....stating the before WW II production years hold a higher premium of 50%....
