Primers for Small Pistol vs. Large Pistol

Hi again, Experts.

I see that cci and others sell primers for handgun handloading. They come in two categories: small pistol and large pistol. Where's the line drawn? I want to start reloading 9mm Luger. Small or Large?...

  SMALL for 9mm. Pistol primers like rifle primers come in two diameters large and small.

  Generally 10mm and larger are large primer, and 40 s&W and smaller are small. there are exceptions.

  Refer to your loading manual (you do have several current manuals, don't you?) for the size (small/large), type (rifle/pistol) and strength (regular/magnum) primer to use for the cartridge/powder/bullet combination your planning to load.
