2 AMMO questions
Has anyone had experience with Fiochhi or Wolf ammo?
I don't know anything about the quality or reliability of either brand. I shoot .45 acp. Thanks

I shoot wolf in 9mm,7.62x39 both guns like it. I find it to be a little dirty but not bad. Over all I like it. I want to try thier shotgun ammo.Never tryed Fiochhi.

Fiochhi is not bad ammo as i have never had any hang ups or malfunctions with it. Its also cheap so I would give it a try

I don't know what kind of shooting you do we have tested in RANSOM REST and both kinds are not among the smallest groups but it does go BANG. 0 -
I've heard at least 2 first hand accounts of Wolf causing problems with extractors, specifically in AR15/M16's. The steel cases can apparently break the lip of the extractor when the lip grabs in upon lock up. I've had limited experience with fiochhi but all was good, it was handgun ammo, probably 9mm. 0 -

My buddies swear by the Fiocchi pheasant shells. I can't verify either way, though. 0 -
As mentioned, the wolf is a little dirty, but seems to go bang with regular frequency. I have had very good luck with all the Fiochi ammo I've used, and they still make some oddball stuff if you are looking to feed something odd and or European. I've used lots of their 45 ACP and it was all goog...not unbelievable or anything, but very good nonetheless!

For the time frame I can identify the guns that Wolf ammo used most, I show 4000 45 , 2000 9mm , and 4000 7.62. Yep, some are a little dirtier, but some of the ammo at my range is too.
45 ACP: I have a low budget 45 that developed periodic extractor failures that COULD have been wear from all those steel casings, but it COULD have been from the cheaper gun. I have a SA 45 that has had almost the same diet with no problems of excess wear. I got a little grief from a local 'smith' .. "you shoot that sht through your 'good' guns".
9 MM : No problems, but spread over 3 different handguns.
7.62 MM : SKS and MAK eat anything anyway.
I have 1000 223 we just started using, not much different groups than other ammo in a Mini-14.
Does the steel casing cause more wear ? I guess it could, it is harder than brass..... but if it is harder than the steel your barrel/chamber is made out of, ammo is not your main problem.
It is cheap, it lights up, it is not so dirty that my actions gunk up before 300 rounds.. and I will clean the gun anyway.

I have just ordered another 500 rounds of Fiocchi .45ACP, $9.39/50.
It always feeds well. I nice smooth bullet-to-cartridge taper.

Thanks for all of the help. I found Fiocchi .45 at Sportsman's Guide for 8.55/box. They also have Wolf .45 for 110./1000. 0
