Help - Age of old Shotgun ???

I have a Springfield Arms 12 Ga. side by side # T46768. It is made in Chicopee Falls, MA - There is NO mention of Savage or Stevens on this gun. Any Ideas..........Thanks

    These and other Springfield arms guns were trademarked to the holding company and manufactured by (as you rightly pointed out) Savage and Stevens, as Stevens was acquired by Savage and the two continued on as one entity. It is fair to say that these Springfield arms were comparable to their Savage and Stevens counterparts and while not comanding anything like the collector value of their better known siblings, are nonetheless good, utilitarian arms. Your side x side was likely made in the 1950's and would approximate the value of a Savage of similar configuration minus about 25%.

    Springfield Arms, Chicopee Falls, Mass., Made by CRESCENT, circa 1900...
    Made Shotguns, Double barrel, Side by Side, Steel Barrels as well as Damascus....Outside Hammers as well as Hammerless..Utilitarian Type made for the Mail Order and Catalog Sales...Sold for $10.00 and up to $35.00...and maybe a bit more....You gave No discription...so We don't know if yours is Steel or Damascus...Hammerless or Outside Hammers.....? With a discription....We might place a value upon it.......

    Thanks for all the info.....It is hammerless, steel barrel, and it looks like nickel but I am not sure. There is no model number. Thanks very much. Pete

    If its a DECENT SHOOTER....No Cracks, Dents, Dings. or Rust or other Abuse...$200.00....Maybe a few bucks more on a Good Day.....
    Any of the above listed Faults....the Value goes down...You neglected to give any discription....so You'll have to pick a number and run with it!...
