Peter's 30-30 Remington Cartridges Need Help

Hello, Picked up Two Piece box of Peter's 30-30 Remington Cartridges. They are definetly 30 Remington Auto or if you prefer Self Loader. Does any one know why the box and cartridges are marked 30-30.

Old Ammo, have lots always looking for more.

  As I remember, 30-30Rem is the origional name for 30Rem, same as 30WCF is the origional name for 30-30Win.
  I'm sure that there were a lot of confused hunters back than.

  oa, the earliest loadings of the .30 Rem were headstamped this way (Rem-UMC and USC Co. rounds are also so marked). Purely a marketing ploy, it appears it did more to cause confusion than boost sales by positioning it as a direct competitor to the .30 WCF. These are not common, but neither are they especially scarce.
