winchester 290
I recently purchased a winchester 290 and for the life of me I can't figure out how to break the thing down for a good cleaning. Anyone out there own one of these and if so how do you take it apart? I've checked e-gunparts and several others but none of them have a good diagram.
Thanks for any info.

Punch out the large plastic pin in the receiver (either direction); lift out trigger group from the rear.

also if you take the magazine tube and holder off,the forend will come off to clean under it.there's a small pin just below the front sight to tap out and the mag. will slide out for good cleaning. 0 -
The recoil spring is like a long snake from the bolt going back in the receiver. Be careful removing it that it don't fly out.
When you reassemble you will have to slowly work it back down the rear hole (Takes to hands) there is a guide on the bolt end that has to be as far back as you can get it. If you don't get it far enough back in the hole it will spring out and it could kink. One you do it the second time around isn't so bad
Some people are like Slinkies . . .. not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs0
