Disposal of Ammo
I have about thirty rounds of ammo to get rid of. It's all .40 hollowpoints. I don't feel comfortable shooting it up due to its age and am not sure where to get rid of it. A gun shop maybe?

I have a bunch of 5.56 military blanks plus some 60 odd 30-06 rounds I have no use for. Anyone know a safe way to dispose of them other than lighting a big bonfire and watch the fireworks.
Seriously though good suggestion welcome and even bad ones..I could use a laugh since I was supposed to be on my way to Florida today.
BTW, live in Northern Virginia so anyone local over 21 welcome to them.

Those 2 calibers are very common. You should have no trouble finding someone in your area who can use it. Tell the owner at your local gun shop to tell his customers and leave your number with him. He probably wont take it himself due to liability, but his customers can.
Your local Law Enf station will likely take it for disposal, but then it will be destroyed.

Maybe your local VFW or American Legion will take the blanks for salutes.
The others if factory wouldn't be hard to find a shooter for. A reloader could always break them down for components

MY FAVORITE WAY IS A 5 GAL. METAL CAN, ADD ABOUT 2" OF LARGE ROCKS, 2 CUPS OF GAS, AND WHAT EVER AMMO YOU DON'T WANT, PUT A HEAVY SCREEN OVER THE TOP AND LIGHT HER UP (AND STAND BACK). 4TH OF JULY ANY TIME OF THE YEAR. 0
