Barrel Length on winchester

Looking to buy a Winchester lever action in 44 mag. First what kind of game can you take with a 44mag, small game up to big game? And what barrel length should I buy. Right now a store has a 16inch barrel for 299.99 but should I get the 20 inch barrel for regular price 365.99. How much of a difference will the extra 4 inches make.

  The extra 4" really does not make much difference at all in the performance of the 44 Mag cartridge... what it does do though, is provide a longer sight radius which significantly helps the vast majority of shooter/hunters.
  
  The 44 Mag (with proper loads), is a good short range (100 yards or less) deer or similar sized game animal cartridge. It is a very good wild pig cartridge with the standard 240 grain JSP.
