Rem 700 VLS in 7mm-08, good deal?

What do you think? I did not find the VLS listed on Remingtons website in 7mm-8. Also, since it's a varmint rifle would the twist be better suited to lighter bullets, and thus not as good for whitetail?

Are you hunting white tails from a stand or are you on the move? This would be a good stand/ambush rifle, but I be it weighs almost 10lbs when scoped and loaded. It is also quite long with that 26" barrel. If in doubt strap a 10lb weight to a 47" chunk of broom stick and try to invission weather or not this will reduce your over all hunting pleasure. Still the price is good and you could always rebarrel it to 22-250 or 243 for pure varmint work if it just didn't work out for you. 0
