N E 1 kno how 2 remove extractor from vz24?
i need help on how to remove the extractor from the bolt sleeve on my vz24. thanks.

With your thumb, push the extractor nose out, away, from the side of the bolt, until the interlock tab is clear of it's groove. Rotate the extractor until the interlock tab is sitting on the solid surface of the bolt. Push the entire extractor forward off the dovetail notch on the extractor ring. Install in the reverse manner.
This is not a job for brute force, as you can bend the extractor, so hand pressure only.
Some guys like a mag full of lead, I still prefer one round to the head.0 -
i cannot seem to get my extractor out of the groove. 0 -
Try holding the bolt in your left hand, pointing forward. Rotate the exrtactor counterclockwise until it stops in the groove. Insert a small screwdriver in the space in front of the extractor ring.SLIGHTLY turn the screwdriver counterclockwise. Keep a counterclockwise pressure on the extractor itself with your left thumb.You want to just lift up the front of the extractor so it can slide onto the ungrooved portion of the bolt. Then tap off as tailgunner said. Keep in mind the rifle might be locked up with cosmoline or corosion, so a soaking in solvent might be in order. Good Luck.

finally got it. just needed some proper leverage. thanks for all the help everyone. 0 -
What they did not tell you is, that the hard part is getting it back on 0 -
i found putting it back on easier. i just placed it at the right spot, push down the middle of the extractor so that the top would lift a bit, then push it back onto the bolt, then slide back over. 0 -

Just a side note, but NJRETCOP turned me on to www.surplusrifle.com a while back...they have really excellent take down/reassembly instructions for a withering variety of surplus arms with some live action video on it as well! Makes this kind of stuff easy; even for me!!

yeah, i go to surplusrifle pretty often. they have good info, only bad thing for me was that the instructions for the extractor werent too great. 0 -
