marbles #172 chamber insert?
just got a box of parts off ebarf, included was a marbles #172 c.f. chamber insert, looks like a .308 length chamber (7mm, .300 sav.?). i thought it would take a .32acp, but the .32 is much to large. .30 carine is to large and .25 acp is to small. what is this suppose to shoot?

Probably 32 Colt which has a heel bullet and body diameter the same as bullet diameter, like a 22RF only centerfire. 0 -
nope, tried that too .32 is much to big. looks like it should be about 27 or 28 cal.??? 0 -
We have a disconnect here! In the 1940 Stoegers "Shooter's Bible". The Marble "No. 172" Auxiliary Cartridge is listed as "Size .300 Savage for use with .32 Colt Automatic".
Granted the above Auxiliary Cartridge could have been mismarked, but the only other cartridge that was chambered in Marble's Auxiliary Cartridges that meets your parameters, i.e. smaller then a .32 ACP & larger then a .25 ACP is the .25 Short Stevens Rim Fire, which was made in the #171.

THANKS RUF, .300 SAV. LOOKS ABOUT RIGHT FOR LENGHT, I TRIED A .30 CARBINE CASE AND THAT FITS BUT IS VERY TIGHT. 0 -
I don't get it. You say a 32 Auto is too big and a 30 carbine fits but is tight?????
The 30 Carbine is larger in diameter than the 32 Auto by a few thousandths of an inch.
Make sure you are trying 32 ACP ammo not 32 S&W revolver ammo.0
