Dan Wesson Barrel Removal

I'm selling an estate Dan Wesson .22 and want to install the extra barrel (looks better). The barrel bushing removal tool will not budge the bushing from the currently installed barrel. Tried some Kroil. Tried a heat gun. Tried lightly tapping the bushing slot with a drift. No luck. Will heat from a propane torch discolor the bluing? Any suggestions?

  A good lesson on why you should clean and lube the threads on both ends of the barrel when installing one. Try clamping the frame in a vise (padded jaws), and guessing that you have the T-handle bbl wrench, slip a piece of steel tubing over the end for more leverage, tap it with a hammer, giving it a impact wrench effect. If that doesn't work, heat the end of the bbl with your heat gun (not with the torch) stick a piece of ice the the muzzle, and quickly try it again before the bbl cools off.   I applied a little more Kroil at both ends of the barrel and let it soak for awhile. Used a heat gun, put the gun in a padded vise, and lightly tapped the slot of the bushing with a drift punch. Success!
  The bushing tool just wouldn't do the job. I think the bushing should be made of harder steel so the tool wouldn't tend to round the slots.
  Of course, a little anti-seize and a little less torque when installing the barrel might preclude all this effort.
