Semi-Auto .223 Legal in Kalifornia
I am looking for a Semi-Auto .223 Legal in Kalifornia. I would love an AR, but can't own one. I have seen the Kali legal ones and I really don't want to take the rifle half-way apart after every 10 rounds. Anyway, I am looking at a Ruger Mini-14 Ranch rifle right now. Any other suggestions out there? I will be using the rifle for medium range Varmint 100-250 yds. I really don't want a bolt action, I am waaay to slow on the 2nd or 3rd shot
I grew up shooting semi's and the AR is what I shot for nine years in the Air Force.
Thanks,
Chris

Your only other alternative is the SU-16, they are hard to get in Cali.
The Mini-14 ranch and the SU-16 are not accurate enuf for varmit at 100-250. Unless your talking 2 legged varmits then they are just fine.
You'll have to spend 5-700 after you buy to get a stock Mini-14 ranch rifle to shoot sub MOA groups.
some Mini-14 ranchs (probably at least half) can be gotten down to around 1.5 MOA with about $100 of tweaks.
Very Very rarely you will find a stock mini-14 that will shoot under 2 MOA stock, it can happen.0
