I was wondering if anyone knew a left handed saftey lever is avalible for the M1 Carbine or if its possible for the existing lever to be fliped around so it can be better opperated by a left-handed shooter.

An import mark will consist of the importers name, city, & state; e.g., "BLUE SKY, ARLINGTON, VA". It will be stamped on either the barrel or the receiver. It may be stamped below the wood line, so you need to take the action out of the stock. A small area where the finish is ground away could indicate that the import mark was removed.

US & foreign military units, as well as police depts, often paint rack numbers on the stock to identify guns. They have no meaning to anyone else.

the makers name will be under the rear sight on top of the receiver. the yellow numbers in paint are the arsenal count no. on tne barrel close to the front sight will be a makers name inprinted. most likely you have a carbine returned from the korean military, hard to say without seeing it. every part on a m-1 carbine has a markers mark!! the more correct the weapon is, by makers marks, the more value!!!the import mark on the barrel can also be just a letter stamp or a symbol stamp. good luck!!!

I had one (an Inland) the importer's name was stamped underneath the barrel just behind the front sight.Very lightly done and hard to see.

The import stamp will be a name of a company (Blue Sky) and the city and state that they are located in. It will not be just a letter or a symbol stamp. Usually I find the import stamps on the barrel.
