Cast bullets for S&W .455...?
Picked up an interesting piece at the gun show... a Smith & Wesson .455. The chamber throats measure .458", and the groove diameter measures .457"
Does anyone know of a source for cast bullets that measure .458" but weigh less than 300 grains?
TIA

Buffalo Arms sells the proper hollow base 265 gr bullets for the .455 but they are pricey. I've had pretty good luck shooting soft .454 bullets meant for the .45 Colt 0 -
Like JB says, use the .45LC bullets. Cast your own hollow base and don't swage them to size. This works great for .38 snubby loads using the 9mm 115grn conical bullet molds too.
