Smith Victory revolver
I believe that the Smith and Wesson Victory model was sold commercially as well as used by military. The one I looked at yesterday had no US porperty markings or flaming bomb, had smooth grips, lanyard ring, parkerized finish, and was chambered in .38 Special. This seems like a commercial model to me... Can anyone help me out with this ??? Thx!

S & W book, says that "many were sold to civilian users" and don't have U.S. or inspector markings.

To add to Rufe's reply ... law enforcement, post office, park service, defense plant security forces, etc. were also unmarked. Also at/near the end of production there was a small lot of the "Victory" models produced in a nickle finish with the lanyard hole plugged to fill a commercial order.
If you only have time to do two things so-so, or one thing well ... do the one thing!0 -
