Cold Python ID I3661

Does this # tell anyone the finish of my Python? A local dealer says it highly polished stainless (like a mirror) but someone else said nickle, is the # definitive? On the box it also has FC11082 if that means something. Thanks for any help

  That's a nickel Python. And a nice one. I3661? Is this the serial number in the cylinder crane area? If so, could it be 13661? If so, that would mean it was produced in 1961, an early Python. The serial number doesn't tell any specifics like barrel length or finish. The other number on the box doesn't mean anything to me. Is the box original to the revolver? Usually the specifics are indicated on the end flap. Anyway, almost any of us here would trade you two lorcins and a bag of relaods for it! [;)]

  The I3661 is the model number. The "I" signifies the "I-frame" on which the Python is built. The 3661 signifies a nickel 6-inch gun. The FC11082 is probably an order number, perhaps signifying something special about the revolver, such as the rear sight, which looks like an Elliason.
  
  Does not the box label contain a reference to the finish? Does the end label make reference to the Custom Shop? What color is the end label? Can you post a picture of the end label?
  
  Yes, the serial number is in the crane area. What range is it?

  Thanks, yeah it does have Eliason sights and was custom tuned at the Colt Custom Gun Shop. I bought it new in 1980. The trigger is sweet.
  Here's the end label on the box. The scan is off color, it is actually a greenish yellow label Ser. is as shown I edited the last 3.
