Over & Under

HOWBECK
I have a over and under that is a 16 gauge but I don't know what the caliber is for the rifle barrel. It is in excellent condition but not sure who made it. There is a H over a star FLUSSSTAHL KRUPP ESSEN and on the barrel. It also has Germany Nitro. It is marked on the underside 16 in a circle and 18/1. There is a U a 6,3 MM and 52 under the rifle barrel. Also has the number 688 under the rifle barrel. Lots of proof marks. It also has the H* FLUSSSTAHL KRUPP ESSEN on the rifle barrel. Is it a HUSQVARNER or however you spell it ?
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Don't want to list it until I am sure what it is.

    Is that 6,3 and 52? 6.5x52R is the same as a .25-35 Winchester and was a popular chambering in German combo guns.

    HB, Flusstahl is "fluid steel" made by Krupp, a German manufacturer. Essen is a German city, Krupp's plant, or one of them might be there. The meaning of the H is not known to me. There is no reason to think Husqvarna is the builder. You should have a good gunsmith check out the shotgun barrel to verify that the chamber is 70 mm long or you would have to shoot only 2-9/16" shells in it. He could verify the rifle caliber at the same time. TRAP55's comment is in line.

    After another look it is 6,5. My old eyes don't see the fine print too good. Thanks for the help!

    I just found F. Neumann, Suhl between the the firing pins. Small print
    I didn't see until I was cleaning it up. Would this be the maker ?

    HOWBECK, I think you're right. I don't know anything about that maker but if you run a search on some of the websites frequented by German gun fans you might be able to get some more info. Wish I could help you more!!

    I had a German gun that had what looked like a proof date on the receiver. Stamped where a lot of proof marks are on the flat inside below the chambers when the barrels are removed. Hope this helps.
