SWISS-SCHMIDT RUBEN?
Hi guys..I took in a Schmidt Ruben straight pull today. Red bakelite handle, 30" barrel, all matching numbers, full length stock with a refinish varnish job. How do I tell if it is a 1889, 1911, or the 1931? Has WF26 stamped under the serial# on the receiver. Bruce

Being it has a 30" barrel it's either a 89/96 or a 1911.
The 89/96 had a 12 round magazine, whereas the 1911 has a 6 round magazine.
My WAG is that if it marked " WF 26", it's a 1911.
WHOOPS! made a booboo, might be a 96/11. See this link.

There is also the 96/11, which is the same as the 1911, except the pistol grip is dovetailed on, whereas on the 1911 it is one solid piece.
