Dura-Coat -vs- Gun-Kote
I have a Colt WW2 M1911A1 reproduction and I would like to have it refinished in the same greenish tint that old parkerized guns had when packed in cosmoline for a long time. I was wondering if Dura-Coat or Gun-Kote could be used to achieve that greenish color, and does anyone have any experience with either of those finishes? Is Dura-Coat or Gun-Kote more durable than a parkerized finish? Will either fill-in or obscure the lettering on the slide/frame (don't want that)? I would use a company called CCR refinishing for the Dura-Coat or Gun-Kote; anyone have any experience with CCR?
Finally, there is a company called Craftguard that advertises that it can parkerize guns in a OD/olive green tint; anyone have any experience with Craftguard? Thank you.

i have a glock duracoated in stainless finish. i hav never had anything damage the finish, including solvents, holster wear, anything. i really like duracoat, and am saving to have an 870 done in green next. 0
