Mauser Pocket Pistol m1914
I have a 1914 Mauser Pocket Pistol, .32cal with a 5 digit SN. I have had it for about 40 years and have fired it from time to time without incident. It has developed a tendency to fire multiple rounds, that is two or three round bursts unexpectedly. A dangerous and unsettling event to be sure. The trigger pull is very light.
The only way to hold the slide in the open position is with an empty magazine in place. When the magazine is released, the slide goes into battery. From disassembly instructions I have found, it looks like the slide is supposed to remain open when the empty magazine is removed- is this right? In disassembly, it is very hard to remove the slide, the Ejector & Hold-Open Catch must be pried up from the rear in order to remove or replace the slide. I guess the "hold-open" part is not working.
Could it be that this gun is not assembled properly, a spring out of place? Or are we just looking at some worn parts?

The R shapedspring in the back could be wrong although highly unlikely. If it is a homemade one, very possible. Those springs get lost pretty easy.
The bad sear/striker deal needs to be fixed asap.
Only the later weapons had a last shot hold open.
Get a good diagram and check all parts for soundness. If you cannot find any problems, take it to a gunsmith that has worked with these. Most haven't. Great little pistols when 100%.

Also have 1914, If I were you I would get that multiple firing thing checked out ASAP!!. Trigger pull should be fairly tight. You are correct about the slide remaining open when the empty mag is removed. It should not be too hard to remove the slide. I would take the pistol to a gunsmith and let them take a look at it. Sounds like it needs a few parts replaced. 0 -

both of my MAUSER pistols needed parts, fixing, and a serious cleaning. i have the MODEL 1910 .25 ACP and the MODEL 1914 .32 ACP, and the small parts i needed are still readily available from several scources. good luck its worth the effort and time needed to put them back in service and rescue them. they are pieces of history, and should be saved and shot. best regards, mike.
