What is the difference?
Which would make a better combat shotgun?
How do they compare to the Benelli M-1 and Mossberg 9200 Bush Gun?

    im not 100% on this, but i think the big difference in the two is improvements in the gas system in the 1187. personally if i were building a "social" shotgun i would prefer a pump.

    IMO....Benelli is hands down the best shotgun you can get..there motto....."performance worth the price".......you pay for what you get.....

    the only real difference between the 1100 / 1187 , the 1187 is made to handle a wider range of shells from light to heavier without needing any adjustments, with the 1100's (simply put) you purchased a 2 3/4"
    chambered guns for the lighter stuff and got the magnun gun for the heavier loads , ( a 3" magnum receiver will not cycle the lighter target loads )

    The 1100 vs. 11-87 has pretty much been answered, but I too will put another vote in for overlooking the Rem's and going right for the Benelli's. I bought my Super Black Eagle over 10 years ago (back before they were cool) and have since sold EVERY other 12 gauge shotgun I owned, after all the Benelli did it all and did it well...

    The 1187 SP in 3.5" comes with a seperate o-ring to be installed for when you want to shoot 2 3/4" stuff. You don't need the o-ring for 3" and 3 1/2" stuff. I have both, the 1187 and the SBE(recently purchased) and the SBE is a short recoil operated firearm that will handle all 3 loads without having to install or take out extra pieces.
