Sig Trailside Ejection Prob
Got a brand new Sig Trailside... took it to the range with Winchester .22 ammo. At the range I go to you can only have 3 rounds in any gun, so I was only able to shoot 3 rounds at a time. The first and second round feed and eject with no problem... but the third round doesn't feed in from the blowback of the second round, and you have to rack the slide to feed it in. Any thoughts? Also, can you use CCI stinger ammo in this gun? Thanks.

Have you tried it with just 2 round sin the magazine? It sounds like your gun is having trouble feeding the last round from the magazine. I don't know anything about this gun, but my suggestion, presuming this is the case, would be to try different magazines from different companies.
I don't think you should have a problem with CCI Stinger ammo, as far as safety goes. Reliability, I have no idea, but if it's a brand new modern gun I can't see any reason they'd make it weak enough to be unsafe with some of the most popular ammo in that caliber.0 -
where is this range located? ive never heard of a limit on mag capacity 0 -
A freind of mine has a Sig Trailside and he told me that his prefers the hy- velocity ammo. He tried Win T-22 which is standard velocity target ammo, and he experinced feed problems. He'll save the T-22 for his High Standard Trophy Citation and his Smith and Wesson.

Fella I shoot with has had problems w/ his feeding the last round when using standard velocity ammo.
Suggest to you same thing I did to him ... go back to the dealer you bought it from and address it as a warranty problem.
Unless the mfg. specifically states that the pistol will not function properly w/o standard loads you've got a problem w/ either pistol or mag. and the factory should stand behind it.
Now as for your "3 round range" ... time to find another place to shoot[;)]

The range is located in French Creek, PA. The 3 round limit is HEAVILY enforced. Sometimes the park rangers hide in the woods in camo. If they see a person shoot more than 3 rounds at a time, it's $100 fine for each one over 3 that was either shot or still in the mag. I've seen people get hit with the fine... it's no joke. 0 -
Its a combo problem of the ammo and the magazine. This is a very common problem with all .22. SOme get lucky and can shoot whateve they want and load the mag to whatever capacity, but these are few and far between. Reccomend that you try a different brand/velocit ammo and you may find one that will rectify the problem. The other is the magazine itself. .22 is a small light bullet, so the spring in the mag has very little spring to it. Buy another mag (just a few bucks) and see if that helps any. Had a volquartsen modified ruger markII that needed both to shoot right, ended up with aftermarket mag and yellow jacket bullets. Worked for me, probably won't work for you, but you get the idea. I guarantee the mfg will say there is no problem. 0 -
