marlin camp 45
i found a marlin camp 45 with 200 rounds of ammo for $250. i don't think i can pass this up unless someone (besides a know it all troll) can tell me some bad points. are they accurate? and up to what range. feeding reliabilty, and other general things. i own a couple marlins and i know they're quality rifles, but i've never shot or handled the camp. any info will be appreciated. cody

I'm trying to find an anti-bear weapon for fishing and I don't trust pistols or mase and my shotgun with slugs is to big and heavy. Would a marlin camp carbine in .45ACP with bear loads be a good, reliable and accurate rifle? If not any suggestions? What should I expect to pay? By the way I live in Wyoming outside of Yellowstone and Grizzlies are pentiful! 0 -
I suggest you get it immidately. I have owned two Marlin 45s and they have both been very impressive. The .45acp is not known for long range accuracey, but with the Marlins 2" groups at 50yrds is not uncommon. They feed and function very reliably and accept all standard 1911 style mags.

thanks, i guess i'll be picking it up in the morning. it's just too damn hard to pass it up. i looked them up to see what they're going for on gb and the others, looks to be a good price if it's in good shape. if i don't like it, i can trade it off or sell it. win-win for me i guess. thanks again, cody

jump on it if it aint busted up, the camps were good fast handling carbines the 9mm & 45 are both home runs, your not into assault problems and there tough to find cause nobody will sell them....its a dandy knock around .....plenty of power because the 45 out of a long barrel is kickass machine...............
