where to find 10/22 receiver
looking for a 10/22 receiver and a 10/22 mag and have not been able to locate a new or good used[B)]

i did but did not find I know this sounds stupid but what did you search under? they cant sell it there because it needs a ffl transfer! 0 -
The best deal is to simply buy a new complete rifel at a local shop or wally-world(should be about $160 either way, and seel what you don't want on e-bay. generally a stock and barrel bring $40 and up in new take-off shape.

If you want to consider a more custom approach, take a look at the Brownells site online. Use the link to get to the opening page, in the upper left corner "search" type in [10/22 receivers] without the brackets and hit 'GO'. There should be 2 pages of products that come up for viewing. There will be 4 or 5 custom made receivers listed, at least one being real stainless steel and not the typical aluminum. All of these are made to much higher standards than the commercial Ruger stuff. They are probably more money than you want to spend but it's always good to know what's out there and available. Also be sure to give a look at Rimfire Central if you haven't already.

The Tannery Shop sells them "80% finished, in the mail, to anyone. NO serial number, no ffl or maker's license is required, either. Do a yahoo search for them. 0 -

thanks for the help I have a 10/22 that I beefed up for my son and wanted to replace the gun all org. for him later and build the heavy barreled one he likes the bull barrel but it is a little heavy for him he is only 8. He loves to shoot and this is the cheapest way 22 that is. I will be buying a ss ruger to make what I want that way my youngest will have one to. got to get started young so they can fight for our rights when we get to old to! Thanks for all the help and I think I will leave the 80% to the real gun people that would be to much for me. I still dont see the point because you can get a completed gun for what you payed for the 80% receiver. Is it that people dont want to reg the gun? it holds true for the ar-15 as well maybe I just missed some thing. 0 -
The 80% receiver tannery sells is made out of stainless steel and has a scope mount cast into it's top. Some folks like steel better than aluminum

You can also check out any gun show in your area, they all have great deals on pretty much any thing you are looking for as far as 10/22 are concerned. I would go there, before I ordered on line. At least you are looking at what you just bought!
