1927 model 94 winchester 30-30 value

i have a model 94 winchester lever action 30-30, early 7-digit serial number from 1927--26" barrel, curved butt plate, original lyman adjustable double peep, very good condition 80-90 original bluing--trying to get an idea of value

    According to the Stoegers 25th Edition The model 1894 you have is valued at $1869 to $1017 depending on alot of stuff.
    Just wondering about the barrel. Is it round, octagon or half octagon? Sounds like somebody added the sight (nice). I have one but not as old but just as nice. It's a keeper.

    Hello kp...

    If it is an ordinary Sporting Rifle, and it has 80-90% blue finish remaining on the frame, then it is worth about $1100 - $1200. The Lyman tang sight (which sounds like it is a No. 1A) is 50-50 on being factory original, and regardless of it being factory original or not, it adds value ($150) to your Rifle. It should be stamped "DA" on the bottom side of the base for it to be correct for a 30 W.C.F. Model 94.

    It is a round barrel and hasn't had a shot fired through it in 30 years

    I just bought a 1894 Winchester Extra light weight Rifle with a 26" barrel, button mag, shotgun butt and a Marble's tang rear sight that letters from the Cody Museum this way and shipped in 1901. I paid $400 but usually they are considerably more. I'm just telling you this because supply and demand among other factors will be a factor. I do suggest contacting the Cody Museum for a letter.

    I don't think he stole it. I think he got a great deal, a bargin. If person #A doesn't know the true value of an item and person #B does and buy's it at a fraction of the true value, then thats good buying. Not very often will someone that knows true value of an item will pay true value. Unless it's that got to have bug that we all know too well.

    To all who have responded to my answer-YES I MADE A GREAT DEAL AND I'M PROUD OF IT!!! There are NO hard feelings what-so-ever. What happened was about 6 months ago I ruptured two discs in my back and to pass the time I helped a local pawn shop with their gun values coming out of pawn (HONEST VALUES AS PER BLUE BOOK AND THE STANDARD CATALOGUE OF FIREARMS). When one became available I could buy it for 2x what they had in it. But, again, I was trying to point out that the supply/demand equasion comes into play. In the condition of the rifle (85% blueing with the receiver being worn silver at the balance point and the wood about the same with 25 notches in the butt plate) the catalogue lists about $2500-$3500 and the pawn shop mgr priced it at $1250, the "Blue Book" doesnot list the extra light weight rifle (GOD I'd love to know the complete history and the stories this rifle could tell). If any of you come down here get ahold of me and I'll take you to this shop and see what I can do, or let me know what you are looking for and I'll keep my eyes open! I am a FFL holder and will ship to you.
