    Wait until You recieve your Rifle and shoot it a few times before You go spending a bunch of Money....You might be surprised to findout that the Shotgun Stock will spread the Shock of recoil better than a Cresent Butt Plate will....I've owned at least a dozen 95 Winchesters in my life....and shooting the 30-06 with it's 50,000 psi with a cresent Butt Plate Hurt like heck!...and the Shotgun Butt Plate cut the shock of recoil better...

    I have to agree with the good Capt... try shooting it first. The steel crescent buttplate used on the original Model 1895s was a killer on the shoulder... especially those that were chambered in 405 W.C.F.[B)][B)][}:)] (the 35 W.C.F. and 30-06 chambered 1895s were no fun either[B)]) I much much prefer shooting an 1895 that has a shotgun style buttplate on it[^]
