S&W Model 27-2
Hey guys, I have a S&W Model 27-2 357 mag, and am looking to replacing the grips on it. The factory grips are really big especially near the butt, and they are un-comfortable in my hand.
What is available out there for a re-placement grips that offers a slightly smaller profile for that gun? And, whenever I look up info in the gun magazines concerning this problem, there is always the question, "round butt-or square butt" and I have no idea how to identify either one of them.
Can you guys help here? [?][?][?]

modern smith revolvers are made with round butt, meaning the area on the bottom rearward area of the grip is rounded. older guns are squared off here. not sure what year it switched. there is no shortage of aftermarket grips for smith revolvers. i have several sets of hogues, wood and rubber, and am very happy. 0 -
Remove the grips. If the frame resembles the pix below it's a round butt, if not it is a sq. butt. Hogue mono grip have a pretty slim profile, and as mentioned there are a lot of after-market grips around.
