Mossberg C 45A...

I want to know what the C is for....The model 45A is in all the gun books yes...but not the letter C as the prefix...what does it mean...

  BR...
  they used the letters to designate changes in production, and modifications by model.
  
  for example... on the MODEL 44 each letter varient was basicly the same gun, but with slight differances. the addition of an adjustable trigger, a military training model, a change in factory sights, etc...
  
  i think that if you have a copy of NUMRICH ARMS available, there is a year by year, model by model, prefix by prefix guide that will list all the variations, and what makes them differant. its in the MOSSBERG section, and takes up 2-3 pages. best regards, mike.

  BR- The C lettering in these early mossbergs usually designated the simplest of open sights....as opposed the the reciever sights Mossberg liked to use.
