?? on German Simpson Karbiner

Found this one for sale today in an old country store along the New River in VA. The owner hasn't priced it yet. Neither of us has a clue. It is a vet bring back from a soldier stationed in Germany. Any info on this carbine and value is greatly appreciated.

Bolt Action about 30 or 32 caliber. Single shot
Rimfire with butterknife bolt handle.
Marked SIMPSON and Simpson and Co. Suhl
Also hard to read appears to be "Prozisions-Karbiner"
Condition is very good overall about 80%

Also found a nice Rem 721 in .270 with a Weaver K-8 scope with extremely fine crosshairs and small dot and adj. objective. Bought the scope for $25 but left the rifle as I already have a 721.

    The Simson "Prazisions Karabiner" dates from the mid 20's to the early 30's.

    The were chambered for various .22 rimfire cartridges ( 22 short & long rifle ) as well as 6 & 9mm Flobert cartridges, which were smooth bores.

    If the gun is chambered for one of the Flobert cartridges its only a wall hanger, as the ammo is hard to get ( imported from Europe ) and expensive.

    My 2 cents, I would only get it if was chambered for one of the .22 rimfire cartridges.

    Thank you for the information. It must be one of the 9 mm ones as the bore is too large for anything else. On my next trip I'll take a look to see if it's a smoothbore. I don't think I'm interested in buying, but I'll give the information to the store owner.
