sako finnlight

i was looking at one of these the other day. it was in a 30-06 and looked new. the asking price was $900. has anyone ever owned a finnlight or ever shot one? i would like to hear some opinions before i plunk down a small fortune for this gun.

    Two friends of mine each bought one of these rifles and are very happy with them. I would have bought one if they came in left hand. I can't say how accurate, but these guys are pretty picky about accuracy and they like the rifles a lot.....

    Guns&Ammo did a review on the Finnlight (.308) about a year ago. It was really accurate. I think all of the ammo they used grouped under 1" at 100 yards.

    very accurate . has to shoot 1 inch groups or better at 100 yards or it does not leave the factory .

    Before you pay twice the price I would look at the Tikka T3 lite. The Tikka is basically a Sako and has to shoot under 1" groups as well. The stocks are very close to being the same. I have the T3 lite stainless in a 7mm. When I went to check out the Sako 75 stainless the weight was very heavy, the finnlight is the lighter weight version. The people I spoke to at the gunstore said the difference between the T3 and Finnlight is minimal except the price.
    You won't go wrong either way but I would save the extra money and use it on a high quality scope (I put a zeiss conquest on mine).

    I have 3 Sako's and all shoot very well. I have had 2 Tikka's and neither shot well at all. In fact, I sent one back to the factory and Berreta USA sent me a new Sako for my troubles.[:D]

    I have a Sako TRG-S Warbird that in my opinion is the best hunting rifle in the world. Shoots 3 shots in the same hole using a 150 grain bullet at about 3700 fps. So I will not knock a Sako.

    That said, I know of a few people on the forum that have the Tikka T3 and swear by them. I think it is the best Tikka has made and I have heard nothing but good (or great) things about it. I love the feel of my T3 and the balance. The action is smooooth. If that is not enough it is described as sexy by Tikka. Which is probably why my wife does not like me hunting. The T3 is babe magnet.[:D]
